The Hague Rule of Law Network (HRoLN)
The Hague Rule of Law Network (HRoLN) is an international and interdisciplinary group of academics, policy-makers, and practitioners, all sharing a profound interest in the rule of law and a commitment to promoting it worldwide.
HRoLN is currently comprised of approximately 120 experts, among them highly esteemed scholars from leading universities and research institutes, alongside key practitioners from national governments, intergovernmental organisations, NGOs, and think-tanks. However, to preserve the informal character of the network, the members of HRoLN join in their personal capacities.
HiiL acts as the convener of the HRoLN and, as such, HiiL organises the Network's annual meetings. The first three meetings (2006, 2007, 2008) were held in The Hague, facilitated by generous funding from the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Fourth Annual Meeting was held in Utrecht on 23-24 April 2009 (see Final Report).
The Fifth Network Meeting took place in The Hague on 26-27 April 2010. Read more.
